Burqa Battles in the Bastille

In 2011 Liberty would, on the streets of Paris,
attract a fine of €150 and a compulsory lesson
in what it means to be a French citizen.

Burqas of different sorts

"For all these reasons of principle, I am in favor of a
law that clearly and plainly declares that wearing a
burqa in the public area is anti-republican."

Bernard-Henri Lévy

I for one am not entirely certain what dress code
could possibly determine whether I am anti-republican or
whether I am enforcing that republic.

From French Impressionism to French Repressionism,
the light has gone!
